Strategic expansion
In 2013, the company branched out onto the European continent with the opening of a regional office in The Hague. “Our expansion into the Netherlands was an important and strategic move for eG Innovations,” explains CEO Srinivas Ramanathan. “Europe has been one of our fastest growing markets, and with the increasing adoption of Citrix and virtualization technologies in the Benelux, we saw a significant growth opportunity. Our Netherlands location allows us to work more closely with our existing local partners and better support our customers throughout continental Europe.” After weighing-up the attributes presented by a host of other locations, the company chose to settle in the Netherlands, citing ease of doing business, the widespread use of English, a highly educated population, and an international outlook, as key supporting factors.

Heart of technology
eG Innovations, with offices across the United States, and in London and Chennai, wanted to be near to the heart of technology, where internet connections run fast and deep. Mr. Anand Sampath, Chief Financial Officer at eG Innovations, explains: “Our technology is used in mission-critical applications, where speed is of the utmost importance. In the Netherlands, the latest technology is used, which makes it a perfect fit for us.”

Advanced ICT infrastructure
According to the International Telecommunication Union, the Netherlands ranks 7th among the world’s most advanced ICT economies, above countries such as Japan and the United Kingdom. Research conducted in 2015 by the WEF (‘Global IT Report 2015’) into network readiness, awarded the Netherlands an excellent score: 4th place (in 2013 and 2014) in a list of 143 countries. The WEF-Networked Readiness Index (NRI) is one of the most comprehensive and authoritative assessments of the impact of ICT on competitiveness of nations and the well-being of their citizens.

Local support
Mr. Sampath praised the Singapore branch of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency for its support in setting up eG Innovations’ office in The Hague. In 2015, this Dutch connection landed the Singapore start-up the inaugural Winsemius Award for Rising Star in SMEs. “eG Innovations is a great new addition to the growing IT cluster in and around The Hague,” according to the WestHolland Foreign Investment Agency (WFIA), which was closely involved in the establishment of eG Innovations in The Hague. The Hague office of eG Innovations is led by Regional Sales Manager, Renne Bots, a 25-year veteran in developing new markets for software companies in Europe. Renne previously headed the Northwest European sales operations of Bottomline Technologies.

Working behind the scenes
eG Innovations’ products are not visible to the average user, but they are most-probably running in the background of your cloud, Citrix, and virtual desktop technologies. It is eG Innovations that ensures that your working day runs smoothly, by monitoring, diagnosing and reporting what is going on within the IT services you use. The company’s customers include: JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup, Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation, Cathay Bank, AllScripts, Honeywell, Samsung, Xerox, Marathon Oil and many more.
