Ilja van Haaren appointed as new Executive Director of WFIA

Today Ms. Ilja van Haaren will start as the new executive director of WestHolland Foreign Investment Agency (WFIA). The WFIA, acquisition partner of the municipality of The Hague, assists and advises international companies in establishing, relocating and expanding their business in The Hague. Ilja van Haaren succeeds Marleen Zuijderhoudt who has been the director of the WFIA since the beginning of 2013.


Ilja van Haaren (57) has held extensive management positions in her career. She was, amongst others, Division Director at Carlson Travel Wagonlits and CEO of ‘Royal Delft. In 2002, Ilja van Haaren was elected Dutch business women of the year, because of the way she renewed the business model of Royal Delft. The last 7 years she was CEO at Stichting Kinderpostzegels, a Dutch NGO working to support the development of vulnerable children. The Supervisory Board looks forward working with Ilja van Haaren in the coming years.
