Take part in the climathon in The Hague

The municipality is inviting its residents to take part in The Hague Climathon on Friday, 28 October. During this 24-hour event participants work together to come up with innovative solutions. In The Hague the challenge is to reuse and recycle rubbish and in this way beat the city’s mountain of waste.

In The Hague more than 75 trucks drive around each day transporting household rubbish to the waste treatment plant. Most of the rubbish ends up in incinerators. The government is looking for ideas of ways to collect and recover materials and resources so that they can be reprocessed into new products. This results in:

fewer trucks on the road
a reduction in CO2 emissions
less use of scarce raw materials

Will you take on the municipality’s challenge to come up with new products for the city’s rubbish? Not only you but also other people in the city will benefit from this!

The Climathon is taking place around the world. Residents of 121 cities will join forces on 28 October to take on the climate challenges of their city.
